As the morning sun rises, you can choose to share your day with her, in her blue water, on her perfect sands, or exploring the native villages and cultures that lie just outside her gates. You may also decide to explore other pursuits, such as a game of bocce ball, an African dance class or an indulgent massage.

The Village consists of a four-floor hotel with one wing. The local style hotel is adjoined to the centre of the Village by sheltered corridors.

Cultural & Adventure Tours (extra cost)

Dakar Accompanied by the capital's best guides, tour of Dakar, the capital of Senegal: the Presidential Palace, train station, Medina fruit and vegetable market and the vast crafts market in Soumbédioune.

Lac Rose Discovery of a natural phenomenon. Bus to lake. Tour of lake on off-road truck. Visit to a Peuhl village. Return to camp via the dunes and beach.

Island of Goree Departure by bus for Dakar port. 15-minute crossing on a rowing boat before discovering the Island of Gorée. Guided tour of the home of the slaves. Walk through the streets. Site listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

4x4 off-road excursion On board our off-road trucks, in the company of our guide, discover real African trails, Peul and Serere villages. Traditional lunch under the mango trees, swim at a beautiful Senegal beach.

Bandia / Lac Rose Visit to the Bandia animal reserve: buffaloes, monkeys, warthogs, giraffes, oryxes, eland antelopes, birds, etc... Lunch on site and then onward journey to Lac Rose. Tour of lake on off-road truck on the beach and in the dunes, visit to a Peuhl village and swim in lake.

Saloum Guided tour of the Saloum delta by bus, a typical village, pirogue boat trip through the bolongs. Discovery of its endemic flora and fauna. Lunch at the Simal camp located between the river and the sacred wood. Stop at the fishing port of Joal to see the fishermen return.

Goree by sailing boat Board onto a spacious and comfortable catamaran sailing boat. Guided tour of the Island of Gorée, a Unesco-listed site. Lunch on board. Sailing and swimming in the afternoon in the Madeleine Islands (depending on wind conditions).

Night at Simal Excursion by jeep: discover the Bandia animal reserve and in the back-country discover the magic of African nights. An excellent combination of the Saloum and 4x4 off-road excursions with an overnight stay at the superb camp of Simal. Don't miss it!

Combined excursions (extra cost) A combination of 2 excursions to discover Lake Retba, or "the Pink Lake", a saltwater lake of an amazing colour, famous as the finishing point for the Paris-Dakar rally (1/2 day) and explore the bush on an off-road 4x4 jeep to meet the stern Peuhl people, tasting, during lunch under the palabre trees, the wonders of Senegalese cuisine (1 day).
