Colours of the world - Mauritius
We are offering our customers the first catalogue from a new series of the "Air Club Colours of the World" edition designated for the most sophisticated travellers. The choice of Mauritius as the destination that opens our new edition has not been accidental. Mauritius is not one of many popular tropical islands on which tourists spend their holidays. Mauritius, for several reasons, is an exceptional destination.
When in the mid 1980s tourists discovered Mauritius the government of this country made a fateful decision: to protect Mauritius from what had befallen other islands frequented by millions of tourists (e.g. Canary Islands, Phuket, Majorca, Aruba, etc) where hundreds of hotels and swarms of tourists had degraded the environment, brought about 'Americanisation' of the life of local people and had erased the colour endemic to these places, the authorities decided that Mauritius would be a luxury, prestigious and exceptional destination inaccessible to mass charter tourism. A consequence of this decision is a tight governmental supervision over quality of tourist services and a policy that only good, luxurious hotels have the right to exist and only three airlines are licensed to operate scheduled flights to Mauritius (Air Mauritius, Air France, British Airways).
Therefore in Mauritius there are no sombre-looking, gigantic block-of-flats style hotels and no hotel towns. Sparse hotels (up to now only around 30 hotels of international standards and small hotels and guest-houses for so called local market have been built) are situated in beautiful gardens in immediate vicinity of beaches and the government enforces and controls their standard of services and furnishings. And they are regarded within travel industry, beside the Balinese, as the best in the world!!! Good roads, modern airport, excellent telecommunication system (all Polish GSM networks are operational), luxurious national airline and unspoiled environment saved by the governmental decision taken 20 years earlier, beauty of the island with many wonderful beaches, idyllically turquoise bays and smiling, friendly natives- what more to ask for?
We invite individual tourists and corporate groups to visit this fascinating island.
For the organiser of an incentive trip Mauritius is an ideal place. Owing to limited number of tourists visiting this beautiful island annually Mauritius is classified as an exceptional and prestigious destination. The mere fact that Mauritius is being contemplated as an incentive trip destination may upgrade a firm's prestige and motivate its employees. Small time difference (2-3 hours), luxurious hotels with good conference facilities and highly professional service, guaranteed security (a meaningful factor after 9.11), an ideal climate especially during the corporate travel season (September-November and March-May), excellent food (a blend of the best of the French and local cuisine), make the visit of the incentive group an unforgettable experience.
If we add that Mauritius is encircled by one of the world's most magnificent coral reefs, that the world records for water transparency and marlin catches belong to Mauritius, it will not surprise you that Mauritius has been selected as the leader of our offer for individual and corporate group tourists who look for memorable experiences and the highest standard of air travel and ground service. Apart from water sports individual tourists may enjoy other attractions available on this island like visits to the world's oldest botanical garden - Pamplemousse, to the Casela Bird's Park, to the theme park of Domaine les Pailles, to one of the casinos or they may go shopping in the market halls of Port Louis, the capital city, which are copies of the market halls of the 19th century Paris.
We offer many attractive programmes for incentive travel groups that are not being sold to individual tourists. The 'African Night' in the Domaine d'Chasseur estate, a catamaran sailing to an uninhabited isle, a cruise under sail on 'Isla Mauritia' the world's oldest frigate, the SEGA show of dances on the beach, a conference on the lagoon of an uninhabited island are some of the items to choose from. We invite individual tourists, families seeking safe, beautiful island, excellent climate all year round and organisers of incentive trips to visit Mauritius with us. Success of the journey is guaranteed!!! All the pictures included in this brochure were taken by us. In Mauritius there is no official categorisation of hotels and the allocated stars are a result of our own appraisal during the inspection by the representatives of Air Club Incentive House which was carried out in June 2004.
